Arden, North Carolina (June 15, 2022) — Singer-songwriter Kevin Daniel — a North Carolina native who now makes his home in Nashville — has signed an exclusive recording contract with Organic Records.
Daniel, who described his music to Relix magazine as “big-city rock and down-home country, with bits of R&B, gospel and soul” is excited for this next chapter, noting, “After being a fiercely independent musician for the last six years or so, I’m super pumped to announce I’ve signed my first record deal with Organic Records out of North Carolina. Not only is it cool to work with a label from my home state, but Organic has a rich history of supporting bluegrass, roots, and Americana musicians, and I’m honored to be added to that list! Cheers to something I’ve been working towards since my 4-year-old self first laid his tiny fingers on a piano all those years ago.”
While music has long been part of Daniel’s life, a family tragedy became the driving force behind his determination to succeed. “My parents were killed in a plane crash. My life was turned upside down, but it takes events like that to see what’s important,” he told Relix. “I’d been thinking about quitting music, but my parents lived the lives they wanted to lead. I figured I owed it to them to do the same.”
The renewed determination has resulted in a steadily growing career, with a discography that includes three previous independent releases, including 2021’s Been Here Before, which was met with acclaim from publications like Relix, Americana Highways, No Depression, Music Mecca and more:
“This guy Kevin Daniel is no amateur. He knows the ropes, has polish when he needs it, has vinegar, too.” — Americana Highways
“Kevin Daniel is the modern Southern-soul-rocker you’ll wish you’d found sooner; with authenticity at the root of each song, it’s hard not to feel something when listening to his music.” — MusicMecca.org
“Hints of Ray Charles, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams rub up against Daniel’s gritty vocals and insightful lyrics.” — Relix
“Kevin’s music speaks for itself,” says Organic Records’ Jon Weisberger. “And when we dug into his career, we were excited to see an artist committed to working hard and working smart, too — attributes that open up all kinds of growth possibilities — as well as someone who would fit well in our expanding roster of Americana artists. We look forward to working with him to build on what he’s already accomplished as an independent artist.”
Daniel will begin recording new music with Organic Records this summer.
